The spiritual journey is personal and communal. It’s a yearning to connect with mystery and fellows-in-mystery, stretching us beyond the solitary self into webs of belonging. Community is thus a portal into holy depths. Connection is sacred medicine.

Want me to facilitate a group offering for you?

Here are examples of my group offerings, often done in collaboration with other orgs. Each can be tailored for your community.

  • 4-week course, co-facilitated with Ellie Hutchison Cervantes, MDiv.

    A practical exploration of how to embody a liberatory Christian faith. This course focuses primarily on the resonance between liberation theologies and contemplative Christian mysticism.

    Previously offered through Copper Beech Institute in 2023, with support from the Trust for the Meditation Process foundation.

  • In this 90-minute workshop, I guide participants through the key stages of potent rituals/ceremonies. It’s meant to equip the average person with the knowledge and skills to craft powerful, meaningful rituals for themselves and others, They leave feeling capable of creating authentic offerings, and are less likely to misappropriate rituals from cultural / spiritual contexts they’re unfamiliar with.

    This workshop can be tailored to address specific needs, such as those of LGBTQ+, low-income, disabled, non-religious, and other persons.

    This workshop has been offered in Isha Vela’s Rompereglas community, Out in the Open’s annual summit, and other settings.

  • A virtual series to deepen one’s authentic spiritual life in queer/trans community. During live Zoom sessions, participants enjoy their existing spiritual practices alongside others doing the same; non-religious guidance is offered to those who want it. Also includes opportunities to share and socialize with the group. Between sessions, participants receive accessible invitations to deepen their spiritual life via email. People can come as they are, with their existing beliefs and practices, as well as their doubts, questions, and curiosities.

    Recognizing that many queer/trans folks have experienced religious/spiritual trauma, AND that many of us still have spiritual needs/desires. This offering is therefore non-dogmatic and unaffiliated with any spiritual tradition. Participants are not told what to think/believe/practice. Instead, they’re invited to lovingly explore their authentic spiritual desires as it feels good to them, using queer/trans histories and experiences as the primary inspiration for our explorations.

    This series has previously been offered through Out in the Open, an advocacy and peer-support organization for rural queer-trans people.
